Filipe Alarcão

Designer · Lisbon, 1963

He was graduated in the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon and in Domus Academy in Milan, where he stayed after finishing his Master Degree, working with Michele De Lucchi, between 1995 and 1997. From his atelier in Lisbon he develops furnishing, urban equipment, luminary, ceramics and glass for Vista Alegre/Atlantis, Asplund, TemaHome, Schréder, Larus and Atalaia Store projects, among others. Felipe has been undertaking the artistic management of product lines for some of these companies thanks to his strategic vision for design, which balances quality and functionality with a scrupulous attention to the needs and expectations of the final user. Filipe Alarcão is co-author of the new Contemporary Art Museum of Elvas. He is represented in the permanent collection of MUDE – Design and Fashion Museum in Lisbon.

2002 – Polis competition for global signage systems for urban places in Portugal.
2002 – First place – Architecture competition museum of contemporary Arts of Elvas.
